Queen Mary wore the sapphire and diamond bracelet at her wedding in 1893. Franck  Previous MessageI have two queries about the sapphire and diamond bracelet which Tsar Alexander and Empress Marie gave to Queen Mary for her wedding in 1893. This is the jewel I am talking about. As presented as a bracelet consisting of the central element on a gold curb link bracelet. The jewel as a brooch Today it is worn by Queen Elizabeth who inherited it after Queen Mary's death. My queries are 1. Has anyone ever seen photos of Queen Mary wearing it as a bracelet? 2. Does anyone know when Queen Mary converted the gift?. Or does anyone know the earliest period when Queen Mary was seen wearing it as a brooch? |
