It was on display at the Museu Imperial in Rio de Janeiro but it disappeared in the great fire that destroyed the building in 2018.
Gift from Emperor Dom Pedro I to his first wife, Maria Leopoldina of Austria, to celebrate the birth of their son, Dom Pedro II. and consists of 26 yellowish sapphire : 26 brilliant-cut yellowish sapphire, suspending a fringe of seven pendeloques dark green tourmaline. The seven pear-shaped pendeloques are each mounted below a large brilliant-cut yellowish sapphire. The elegant silver necklace, designed by Etienne Nitôt and Sons of Paris was completed in 1825.
