Hey Sam,
I'm really looking forward to reading your piece about Fringe Tiaras.
I find it really interesting how we've heard about the fabulous Romanov Jewels Queen Olga got on her wedding, but except the Emeralds, there aren't any other prominent jewels that come to mind.
Queen Olga was pictured wearing the Emerald Parure , her Ruby Tiara and Parure , a Diamond Coronet that could also be worn with Pearls, a Pearl Corsage Brooch , at least two large diamond rivieres, diamond stars, a pearl brooch, and a couple of floral brooches.
She also owned a Russian Sapphire Brooch and a Turquoise Parure , but was not pictured wearing them.
Queen Olga had six surviving children at the time of her death in 1926, and it is interesting how the jewels were divided:
King Constantine I/King George II: The Emerald Parure and the diamond rivieres + Queen Helen got the Russian Sapphire Brooch
Prince George: The Pearl Corsage Brooch
Prince Nicholas: The Ruby Tiara and Parure
Prince Christopher: The Turquoise Parure
What did Prince Andrew and Princess Maria receive?
