Re: A list of the jewels received by QEII during her life and not worn/seen in public
i have never been convinced that there are two missing sapphire tiaras. Since the Queen has never worn the Lincoln Tiara, Grenville Emerald Tiara, Grenville Meander Tiara I think it’s safe she say she dislikes those Kokoshnik/Spartan/ Bandeau Tiaras Hence her buying the Princess Louise of Belgium Necklace to convert. If there were two others I doubt they would both be of the same profile. As to rubies they are the most rare and valuable of the precious stones hence they are very rare in all royal collections. Emeralds seem to have had the best availability. The Russian Imperial Collection had very very few rubies in it. Only the Grand Duchess Vladimir had a parure and they were quite small stones.
