"May Two-Four" is the ubiquitous beginning of summer for most Canadians.
I think that it is great that we can still celebrate an historic holiday such as Queen Victoria's birthday.
I was thinking of what to post to celebrate such as day.
Something regarding QVictoria, something referencing jewelery and something reflecting Canada.
So I can up with a post about the Diamond Jubilee stained glass window that was installed in the Canadian Parliament Building in Ottawa.
Here is a link

The window, surmounted by St Edward's Crown, reflects the long reigns of QV and QEII.
Above their bust portraits, you see their cyphers.
For her portrait, QV wears her fringe tiara with her coronation necklace and earrings.
QEII too wears the coronations necklace and earrings - one of the many links between the two monarchs.
Her tiara however is a Canadianized version of the George IV diadem featuring some quintessential Canadian symbols - maple Leaves and snowflakes. Totally fictitious but still believable.
Under the busts are replicas of TM's Canadian Crests and below those, depictions of the Canadian Parliament Building at the time of their jubilee.
If you "double click" on the picture in the link, you will find a very interesting article about some of the other features of the Canadian Senate Chamber.
Happy Victoria Day !!
