Re: Queen Victoria. The Stuart Ball of 1851 and emeralds
Thanks Knightship. The only emeralds (as far as I know) worn by the Duchess of Gloucester, which appear to have come from items already owned by former British queens, are the pearl and emerald necklaces which Queen Mary is said to have made from the emerald and pearl necklace Queen Victoria gave to Queen Alexandra as a wedding gift.
