Queen Victoria received the "best" riviere, Princess Alice the second best necklace. The necklace bequeathed to Queen Maud was not described, but obviously it came further down in the pecking order.
For whatever reason the media did not report about others who got jewellery.
The Duchess of Cambridge and Princess Mary Adelaide (Duchess of Teck) also received significant jewellery bequests. Mary Adelaide and her first son, Princess Adolphus of Teck also received cash. Among the jewels given to the Duchess of Cambridge was another diamond necklace. I am still trying to identify some of these jewels.
Other jewels went to aristocratic ladies. Initially the Prince Consort was to receive a turquoise and diamond ring.
