Winston Churchill used frequently to wear a ring with a black diamond in it - as he is in at least one of the famous photographs of WSC by Karsh of Ottawa.

I was just reading Mrs Greville's biography by Sian Evans and she states that by 1910 Mrs G. had acquired a 'fine set of black diamonds, probably from Borneo'.
Now black diamonds seem to have passed me by & I don't think I've ever seen any. Assuming they were valued at over £100 (in 1942) they would have been inherited by Queen Elizabeth. Have they ever been seen?, or are they languishing in the BP vaults? Anyone have any ideas?
