In Field it has it bit that says 'borrowed during 1982 was a six-row pearl choker with a large oval diamond-studded centrepiece'. The date would be a bit out but Field has many inaccuracies; otherwise the description seems to fit. If it had been borrowed from the Queen I think Field would have mentioned it, so I've always assumed Field meant borrowed from outside the royal family.
