They seemingly survive many low points and then some. They are so under cover you just don't know about them until an occasion or situation arises.
I am told that the UK has at least 6 different levels of rich or upper class sets in Britain and 3 of them are of the old aristocracy being nobles/ royals who are asset rich and cash poor, the plain aristocracy, and the set who rose up the ranks in QV's industrial Britain.
The other 3 types are the nouveau rich, and others who came into to money in the 50's and 60's and then what you call the media barons.
Then their is the upper middle class, middle class, and lower middle class outside of those six different classes.
Maybe someone on here might put me straight on this narrative but from what I am seeing their does exists different levels of aristocracy in Britain.
Regards,
Dave.
Lady Iona Murray (b.1992) married Captain Barnaby Frederick John Spink this weekend. She is the second daughter of the 9th Earl of Mansfield.
I have only seen small pics on Instagram, but she appears to be wearing a diamond wreath tiara. I assume its the same tiara worn here by her grandmother Pamela, the Countess of Mansfield at the Royal Caledonian Ball in 1957:
