Nice to see reappear the Pauline Borghese Ears of Wheat Tiara - who would think itīs still exists in possession of distant relatives -, but itīs likely to disappear into a unknow vault. This is sad. As sad as to see a loan to a museum go to auction, to disappear from public view als well.
It is to be expected, the prices will go way over the estimations. Will be there anyone to collect enough to send them to the Louvre and the VA Museum - where they belong?
I'm sorry, but I think it's very unfortunate from a historical and art-historical point of view.
