Re: A question regarding access to tiaras
The jewellery collection is stored in a vault in Palace Huis ten Bosch, where the King and his family live. There are about 4 tiara's which are only worn by the Queen: the House Diamond 'Stuart' tiara, the Mellerio ruby, the large pearl and diamond tiara and the large sapphire and diamond tiara. Some times, the Mellerio, sapphire and pearl tiara's are worn by the Crown Princess, but in general - with some exceptions (I know of only 1) - not by the other members of the family. This all says nothing about the ownership of the tiaras: the collection is officially part of a foundation. All 4 daughters of Juliana have a stake in this foundation with specific jewels allotted to them.
