As far as I know no one has ever identified what the wedding gift from George VI's Medical Household was.

Recently, I found an item which said it was a "gold and Cairngorm brooch"

I wonder if that was the brooch which Queen Elizabeth wore to the Opening of the Scottish Parliament in 1999?

For that occasion QEII wore her large pearl earrings plus the Queen Anne and Queen Caroline pearls, so I would expect that the brooch had some significance also.


Has anyone ever identified the brooch?
