Re: Congratulations to Spanish Royal jewels
I've postulated on the many necklaces of Queen Sofia before and often wondered if they came via her wedding or some other personal avenue. Her mother was from the very still wealthy Hanover family and her dad was the first Danish prince to assume the Greek throne, so maybe she has personal derived wealth from her maternal/ paternal sides of her families. Both her husband's and fathers family were exiled for periods of times and I believe had financial difficulties but a documentary I remember watching with her deposed brother the king of the Hellens said that he was compensated by the Greek government for his father's estate and possibly other properties claimed by his family in Greece, the settlement was in the millions. Queen Sofia's collection is huge and impressive though.
