anyway, both are very nice rings and those half circle diamonds must be beautiful (not tanzanite!!! they would never mount a ring like that with white tanzanites. "Cloudy" is just from a still photo)
However, since the Queen seems to favour this stone and the settings are super different, my guess is this is the same sapphire. Maybe she hated the old claw setting. Halo settings are very in right now.

A few weeks ago Queen Mathilde started wearing a beautiful new sapphire ring.
Before this, she'd been wearing another sapphire ring, practically daily since 2009.
Could the sapphire of the old ring have been used to make the new one?
