History of Famous Jewels and Collections: Re: The Greek Antique Corsage Tiara

This Grand Duchess, who was the mother of Queen Victoria of Sweden, had an impressive collection of jewels, some now in the collection of the Swedish Royal Family as well as the Danish Royal Family.

For instance, there is the Baden Palmette tiara now in the vaults of Queen Margrethe II.

To Sweden went the Diamond choker in the photo below (from her golden wedding), which is now used as a bracelet, as well as the large Diamond Rose brooch.

I believe the brooch worn at the throat in this painting also found its way into the collection of the Swedish Royal Family:

Thanks for this Sam, did not know this particular peice came from a German grand Duchess. It really is a beautiful peice, I think maybe the best understated tiara I know. I wonder what other jewels the Grand Duchess had and are there still evident like this one you have highlighted?

Just when we thought we were getting back to normal eh?

Anywho, I am trying to write some new content for my blog while simultaneously avoiding those really long articles I have sitting in my drafts - So I thought why not write a little piece about the Greek Antique Corsage Tiara.

Now I know Pablo Milstein has identified the original corsage as belonging to Grand Duchess Louise of Baden.

You can see the pearl elements in her hat and I assume the rest of the brooch at her waist.

I was wondering if anyone had a really good picture of the set when it was presented to Queen Ingrid:

All of the ones I could find are very blurry and I wanted to have a good look at the elements beneath because I don't think Queen Anne Marie's Pearl drop earrings are from this corsage:
