i express you my deep gratitude for posting these photos.
Dear all,
Thank you for your analysis concerning this post.
It is indeed a real mystery !
Please find below the reasons :
This photo was taken during the banquet at the French Foreign Office (Quai d'Orsay) during the state visit of their Majesties in France in July 1938.
Queen Elizabeth was next to the French President Albert Lebrun.
Consequently, It can not be the greville diamond tiara and the festoon Greville tiara
Otherwise, in that case, Queen Elizabeth would have been lent the Diamond Greville tiara and the festoon tiara for the French Stat visit ;(thus before the death of Mrs Greville and before being officialy left the collection of jewels)...very strange for such an important event consideration the international situation before the IIWW.
Further to the information given, this tiara may be :
- The Queen Adelaide's fringe tiara ?
- The double Greek key tiara ?
- The fringe tiara from Princess Victoria ?
- Alexandra's Kokoshnik Tiara ?
Or an unknown tiara ?
Same question for the necklace ?
Maybe several collets unknown from us (maybe the one worn by Princess Margaret and the Duchess of Cornwall - pure speculation)
Last but least, apparently, this question has been already raised in 2015 by Merlin without any success...Sadly at that time he did not find the photo attesting to his words .

What a mystery !
Franck
Yes my thoughts exactly, so they are not new jewels. I wonder what year was the occasion? I kind of like the frame and shape of the tiara though as opposed to its present look.
Regards,
Dave.
I believe it is the Greville tiara before the addition of the diamond clusters along the top edge.
Isnt't that the double-row meander tiara worn once by Princess Ane during a State Visit about 15 years ago.
Is the late QEQM wearing the Greville 5 strand necklace or is that an entirely different necklace spotted in the first 2 pictures?
Regards,
Dave.
Our fellow poster, Franck, is unable to post photos at the moment, so I am posting these on his behalf.
Franck will explain the photos.
I have taken the liberty of marking these images with Franck's name as too many are just grabbing images, using them as their wonderful find & at times making money either through their sites or by selling the information to the media.
