To my eye, I am not sure that it is either the Cambridge Emerald or the brooch with Simon Armitage.
It looks too small to be the Armitage one (which I think is an aquamarine)
yes, you are right it is an aquamarine brooch or some other pale blue stone. It must have been the pattern on the dress that confused my eyes.
