I don’t think the 300 items had anything to do with the Gloucesters. I saw a mention of a curated collection. I took that to mean that either the items being sold were brought together for the sale or that they were stock of Windsor antiques.
I think it would make sense to sell the jewellery now so that trusts can be created to avoid tax rather than leave jewellery to be sold later.
