This is a subject that I have thought about often and feel based on some inferences I have read over the years that there are quite a lot of emerald and diamond pieces hidden away.
If my collection of media reports at the time was that Meghan was told she could not wear the tiara due to provenance issues relating to Russia not that it had been promised to be worn by someone else in the family. This would rule out the Greville Tiara.
The Vladimir could be the tiara in question however given how often the Queen wore it one would think that it was out of bounds.
(1) Given that the last 2 queens tended to wear the same pieces over and over there could easily be multiple tiaras that have not been worn in public for years and that a mystery tiara(s) is gathering dust in a vault.
(2) Mrs Ronnie Greville had 2 substantial emerald and diamonds necklaces. Perhaps she had 2 tiaras.
(3) I am just wondering if the tiara with the sapphire centrepiece work by Queen Mary and also by Princess Margaret could have an emerald brooch added.
Sadly, I suspect that we may never know. I had been hoping that a companion book to the Queens Diamonds would be done by Hugh Roberts on coloured stones however this has not happened.
We can but hope that Camilla and Catherine are more adventurous.
From the various media sources I am hearing and seeing it appears the British Royal family or the late Queen had in her possession an unknown emerald and diamond tiara which reportedly entered the Windsor collection via or under rather undefined circumstances. It is said the tiara has Russian provenance.
My questions are: Could have the Vladimir circle tiara with the windowed frames be one from the selection of tiara options put to the Duchess of Sussex?
I can't see the great Vlad being part of a selection of tiaras for a wedding tiara as it has been earmarked for a Queen Regnant or a Queen Consort to wear.
The only other emerald tiara I can recall in the Windsor collection is the surprise emerald and diamond tiara debuted by Princess Eugene at her wedding. The provenance of this tiara goes back to the renowned Margaret Greville.
Is it possible that the Greville emerald and diamond tiara was the one which is being spoken of, or is it possible that the Greville emerald and diamond tiara does have Russian provenance?
Does anyone have any information on any lost or noted/ renowned emerald and diamond tiaras once in the Russian Imperial family or Russian nobility families?
The tiara according to media sources is really beautiful and outstanding. I wonder if they is any information out there which could point to possible suspects as it relates to emerald and diamond tiaras?
