Today is the Centenary of the wedding of George VI & Queen Elizabeth.


During the week I have been doing a series of post about gifts of jewellery given to the Queen Mother for her wedding on 26 April 1923. They were a frame for an exciting new discovery by @thebeaumondecollection.

This morning (Australian time) @thebeaumondecollection released the photos.

It is so rare for us to see anything totally new, that this find is a treat & a treasure.

To put this find into perspective -- there were no photos or sketches of the brooch in the press in 1923.
