Hey 992234177, thanks for pulling up the records. I read sometime ago about the Marlborough jewels having been sold off by an earlier Duke to settle debts but further on in that same article was a reading which claimed that a subsequent Duke had gone all over Europe and rebought lots of the famed Marlborough jewels some of them being rumored to be an entire collection of colored diamonds. But the Londonderry's had a fabulous collection as well and I believe have loned out their remaining jewels to the V&A museum. You see unless their is another traditional coronation these families won't have reason to show case what they still have or any new acquisitions which is such a shame. King Charles really disappointed in not at least having a close as possible traditional coronation as it relates to jewelled head Gare and robes etc. No wonder the government is always tinkering with removing the Hereditary house of lords/ peers because the royal house is moving too far left.
Regards,
Dave.

Here’s the link to your earlier post about the Wellington Floral Tiara
https://mb.boardhost.com/historyroyaljewels/msg/1568237550.html It’s interesting to think that the Wellington family might have one of the best ducal jewel collections outside of Westminster and Buccleuch. Their jewels are better than Northumberland, Marlborough, Rutland and Bedford and maybe better than Devonshire. It does make you wonder what else they have, do they have the brooches that match the main tiara, do they have the necklace of alternate diamonds and coloured stones worn by Kathleen.
