Below are the images I will use for a post on Instagram.
I initially saw the information on @marjoleinvrr on 28 May 2023. Because the post covered the salient information, I didn't think another post was necessary - but obviously some are still unaware of the new information. More alarmingly, some significant factual errors are in items published on some websites where, because no source is quoted, it is being assumed that the site owners did the research.
For those who may not be able to view an Instagram post, my last remarks do not apply to @marjoleinvrr Her post is accurate & gives the source.

The new information comes from, "Shedding New Light on the 'Vladimir' Tiara", Jewellery History Today, issue 47, Spring 2023.
The authors are Dr Galina Korneva & Dr Tatiana Cheboksarova.
The New Information
1. The tiara was made for Empress Marie Alexandrovna for the christening of her first son, Nicolas Alexandrovich, in 1843.
2. The Empress bequeathed it to her third son, Vladmir Alexandrovich in 1880. This explains why it is not seen in photographs of Marie Pavlovna prior to that time.
3. The authors provided very strong circumstantial evidence that the tiara was made by Bolin.
I urge everyone to read the article. It is an engrossing read
