HM wore the same brooch at her throat in this 1897 photo. Detail In the press reports of Queen Mary's wedding gifts there are at least 3 turquoise brooches mentioned but, apart from the brooch given to her by Edward VII and Queen Alexandra, there are no sketches. This brooch could be one of the others; equally it could be one of the many which Queen Mary received from her family at various times before her marriage.
