The brooch worn by QEQM and the Duchess of Cornwall was part of the gifts given to Queen Alexandra by the Ladies of North Wales in mid June (probably on 14 June) 1863 -- so it is not part of the gift of South Wales. Description of the gifts from North Wales. From "A memorial on the marriage of HRH Albert Edward, Prince of Wales and HRH Alexandra..." by WH Russell (copy on Royal Collection site) Previous Message That particular copy of the image comes from the British Library site. There is another on the Royal Collection site in a book which features the wedding gifts of Queen Alexandra. I don't recollect seeing this particular brooch worn, although there are photos of QEQM and the Duchess of Cornwall wearing another brooch which some have said was the present from South Wales. Previous Message Many thanks Beth and Franck for your excellent work. I do think a definitive illustrated list would prove useful. The plate showing the emerald bracelet from Wales is absolutely beautiful, do you know where it came from? Also the brooch is unheard of, as far as I'm aware.
