Many thanks Thomas for that excellent and detailed account of the history of the ruby parure ! I will only add that : 1- Like the tiara, the ruby and diamond rosette clasp was also on show and part of the 1962 exhibition at the Louvre. A huge baroque pearl (associated with the Royal House of Orleans) hung from it : The pearl was added somewhere after the sale of the Crown jewels. The pearl never belonged to the Crown jewels. 2- In 2006 and 2012, one (or two ???) element(s) from the ruby and diamond belt went at auction : The last photo shows part of a pin or clasp at the back of the element. So, it was transformed into a brooch.Have a glittering Bastille Day all !!! J-F
