Re: Duchess of Gloucester (Alice) necklaceArchived Message
It looks to me like a very deep line v shaped necklace. Most possibly fringe or lattice in design. I’d definitely say not the tiara just upside down.
Btw I never tire of discussing the Gloucesters collection Kongreto so this thread is very welcome.
It’s definitely an familiar piece for me by the looks of things.

Hopefully people will not tire of discussing the Gloucesters' jewel collection as I came across this image of Alice wearing an interesting necklace. Now, it could very well be that this necklace has been discussed before - if so I appologize for bringing it up again - but I would be very interested to hear your views on it. Any ideas what necklace it could be? At first glance I thought it was the tiara given to the Duchess as wedding gift from the Duke which has not been seen for ages coverted into a necklace. But then looking at it some more I'm not so sure I am that convinced.

The occasion was a Royal Film Performance at the Odeon Theatre of "Where No Vultures Fly" in 1951.
