It is amazing how inventive Birgitte, Duchess of Gloucester is with her jewels. Unlike Princess Alice she does not appear to wear the jewel as a brooch in the ordinary way. Prior to this instance I have only seen Birgitte, Duchess of Gloucester wear it as a pendant for evening wear. In contrast all the images I have of Alice, Duchess of Gloucester show her wearing it as a brooch, even when she wore it for evening events.
