Württemberg tiaras

There are several other tiaras in the Württemberg Family. Unfotunately i don't know much about the hisotory of them A sapphire Parue worn by Duchess Rosa and later by Duchess Diane who wore it at the pre-Wedding Balls of Duchess Mathilde, Duke Philipp and Duke Friedrich
A big diamond tiara which was worn by Duchess Diane at her Wedding Day and by Princess Marie zu Wied at her Wedding to Duke Friedrich in 1993
A small diamond tiara worn by Princess Marie zu Wied at her pre Wedding Gala. It was worn by Duchess Fleur at her Wedding Day as well as by Duke Carl's sisters the Duchesses Elisabeth, Helene and Marie Thérese all used it as their bridal tiara. Not to be confused with Queen Pauline's diamond tiara which is on the Display at the Alte Schloß in Stuttgart
Duchess Diane has also worn a diamond and emerald tiara which she later wore at the Bavaria/Liechtenstein Wedding Gala in 1993 (sorry no pic from that occasion)

I get the feeling Queen Mary's love of jewellery came from her paternal side of her family who just happened to be the Wurttemberg's. In the pictures provided by Stefan it really shows this family having an exceptional jewellery collection, one that is actually more prolific than say a reigning royal house. It is an interesting fact that all royal/ princely houses of Europe are related by blood to the BRF. The Prussian, Hannover's, Saxa Coburg Gotha's, the Holstein Sounderberg Glucksberg's, Mecklenburg Schwerin's, Glephs, Weids etc. And they all maintain impressive jewel collections.

Yes many of ther former reigning german Families have quiet a numbver of tiaras and otehr Jewels in their Vaults. unfortunatels we don#ät get to see the almost only at Wedding as their Wededding Gala's are mostly privat without photographers present. The last time we got to see much of ürttemberg Jewels was at the pre-Wedding Gala of Duke friedrich in 1993. There was also a Soiree after the wedding of Duchess Fleur in 2003 but is was private and nor Press was invited so we didnt get to see which Jewels have been worn then.

In the photo of Duchess Rosa wearing the sapphire parure it looks as if she is wearing a large sapphire brooch. Do you know if it is a large sapphire, or is it a crescent brooch? Because of the colour of the Duchess' gown I cannot decide.
It is a sapphire brooch,. I found anopther photo of duchess Diane from the Gala in 1993 where the brocch can be seen. in the photo of her with Duke Carkl it hidden under his arm.

Great Thread! I've always wanted to learn more about the Württemberg Tiaras! They have a collection larger than most reigning Royals! I'd love to see an exhibition of the jewels at one of the family Castles!
There is also this heirloom Ruby Tiara, worn by Duchess Diane at her pre-wedding Ball! And a Star Tiara worn by Duchess Marie at a Noble Wedding last year (discussed on RJWMB)!
Duchess Diane has also worn another small diamond tiara but this one was apparently a loan i have read
