HRH the Duchess of Sussex received a beautiful string of rare coloured pearls today whilst visiting The Excellencies the President of Fiji Major-General (retired) Jioji Kontrote OF, MC and his wife Sarote Faga Kontrote at Borron House.
Thank you Bryce. It is a stunning gift, and for me unexpected. Fiji can still do what would cause an uproar in Australia -- give a present of jewellery.

It will be interesting to see if the Duchess wears this necklace of Tahitian pearls. Unlike so many gifts given to royals, this is very wearable and fashionable.

The Duchess of Sussex wore dazzling earrings, Emily Andrews reports: "The mystery of Meghan’s earrings... all KP will say is that they’re “borrowed”. From whom, they will not say. Most likely the Queen."
She has also worn a diamond and sapphire ? bracelet this night.
I think that it might have been worn by QEII in 2002 for her golden jubilee.
Indeed she wore 2 bracelets a big one (with rubies or yellow diamonds) and a small one with small stones (never identified).

The reports are that these earrings are loaned and many believe by HM. However seeing that KP is reticent about the pieces origin, it makes me wonder if they are not from her sister in law's collection. The colour of earrings remind me of the colour of the diamonds in the bracelet reportedly given by prince Charles to Duchess Kate on her wedding to prince William. They beautiful though.

I find it interesting that KP does not even say the earnings are borrowed from royal family... What’s to say they are not borrowed from high jewelry house such as Graff. It would not be the first time it’s been done; even Diana, PoW loaned pieces on rare occasions. We may never know (unless one can find I,age of the earnings on other person / via a jewelry house web site etc....
