Entailed jewellery Posted by MarcA on October 28, 2018, 8:42 am There was a discussion on either here or the RJWMB about entailed jewellery and having a quick flick through on the Sotheby's website I found an example. At the Magnificent & Noble Jewels Auction to be held in Geneva on the 15th November is the following lot: http://www.sothebys.com/en/auctions/ecatalogue/2018/magnificent-jewels-and-noble-jewels-ge1805/lot.532.html The jewel was to remain in the possession of the owners of Thoresby (Thoresby Hall). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thoresby_Hall I would suspect that as the title (Earl Manvers) has died out that for some reason it could now leave the family or entail was broken.
