Queen Sofia's Ruby Pendant
Posted by The Royal Watcher on November 1, 2018, 11:08 am
I've been doing a series of Queen Sofia's Top 8 Jewels to mark her 80th Birthday, and today's turn was her Ruby Pendant, HERE, which originates from her mother Queen Frederica!
The earliest image I have found of the piece was it worn as a brooch at the Christening of King Constantine in 1940 (I've also been curious about her necklace and it's provenance)
Does anyone know of the Pendant's origins?? Is it an heirloom or a new acquisition?
It's a beautiful piece and I always love that sort of combination of pearls and a pendant.
