Buccleuch pearl and diamond tiara Posted by Beth on November 26, 2018, 2:15 pm I wish I knew something of the history of this gem of a jewel, but all I have are some photos. It was very popular with brides. Duchess Mary (Mollie) wore it in July 1939 when she presented her daughter, Lady Elizabeth at the first Court. Her daughter, Lady Elizabeth Scott wore it in 1946 when she married the Duke of Northumberland. as did Lady Caroline for her wedding in 1951 Duchess Jane Duchess Jane in 1956 Miss Charmain Scott wore it for her 1964 wedding.

This Tiara has been used by more brides than the Mayflower Tiara, but the latter still was termed as the 'bridal tiara' of the family, which I find odd! An additional bride who wore the Tiara was Henrietta Montagu Douglas Scott, when she married Maj John Griffin!
