Swedish royal brooch to identify
Posted by Beth on December 4, 2018, 5:30 am
Photos of Queen Ingrid wearing the Swedish cameo parure are I am sure familiar to most. When I saw this image what took my interest was the brooch HM was wearing on the centre of her dress. It looks like a portrait of a male, perhaps a King.
Does any one have any information? Has the brooch been worn by other Swedish royal ladies?
Could that be the Kings Order Portrait only without the light blue loop. On that occasion was a historic Ball or something anhd if i remember it right she went as Queen Joséphien so the Men on the Pic could be Joséphines husband King Oscar I.

Thank you Stefan. That makes sense. Queen Ingrid acted the role of Queen Josephine in the play and I presume that dictated the choice of jewels which were associated with the Queen.
