QEQM. Mystery diamond circle brooch Posted by Beth on December 8, 2018, 7:46 pm Some time ago I inquired on the RJWMB about the diamond circle brooch Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother wore on her sash, but no one seemed to know anything about it. I think that the Queen Mother was photographed wearing it on her hat in Edinburgh in late 1944. What do others think? Are the photos showing the same brooch?

Mystery diamond circle brooch" I think HM was definitely wearing the same brooch on the two occasions. I remembered that I posted the following photo on the RJWMB in May 2017 as well. I think it shows more clearly that HM wore the same brooch on both occasions. As this brooch first appeared in 1944 in the middle of the war, I strongly suspect that is was one of the Greville jewels. Even though none of the photos are very clear it is obvious that the brooch has some sizeable diamonds in it.
