Another unknown brooch" Hello, Yes, I have some photos of that brooch (happily some in color) that allow to say that the large central stone is pink. So maybe a pink topaz or pink sapphire ? It seems to be of the romantic Edwardian era. The earliest photographic evidence is dated November 1965: Other photos of the Princess wearing it : As it was not sold at the 2006 auction, maybe it's still with her children. Have a nice day ! J-F

Another set of very revealing photos from your amazing archive! Thank you so much for sharing. The colour photos show much more detail than the black and white one which I posted. For a number of reasons, I suspect that the central stone is a pink topaz rather than a pink sapphire - but of course that is just a guess! I apologise for not having replied yesterday -- I was in a great rush then.
