Because the details are not 100% clear I have puzzled over this but I think that the large brooch probably is one of the Buccleuch emerald brooches. The necklace seems to match, but I am less certain about the tiara. Perhaps it is just the angle from which the photo was taken which is suggesting some apparent differences. Sadly, there are no photos in the newspapers of Molly Buccleuch on this occasion.

The procession of royal ladies consisted of Gloucester, Kent and PssAlex, so she is probably a peeress, I think that Kent is wearing three strands of pearls between two strands of diamonds.

There are two explanations for that. 1. This was the first time TV cameras were allowed into the House of Lords and that photos of the ceremony from inside the House could be published. 2. I think this was the first time that female life peers were appointed - and so considerable attention was given to them.

Lol . The jewels are clearly those of the duchess of Beaufort. And I think princess Alucd was more petite. But I may be wrong. What do you think ?

Interesting that she is attending as if she were HSH Princess Mary of Teck not a duchess.
