Empress Maria Feodorovna cabochon sapphire brooch Posted by J-F on March 13, 2019, 10:30 am Hi, Leslie Field, in her book about the Queen's jewels, brings the info that the cabochon sapphire and pearl drop brooch worn by Queen Mary and now by the Queen, came from Empress Maria Feodorovna. It's amongst those bought by Queen Mary from the Empress's daughters. Leslie Field use this well known photo as an evidence : For me, it only shows an oval cluster brooch set with a dark central stone. It can be that brooch but I was not 100 % sure... Recently, I found this other photo taken at the same event: On this one, the pearl drop is clearly visible... I'm now 100 % sure it's indeed the same J-F
