Sympathy for France Posted by Beth on April 16, 2019, 5:18 am I am sure that everyone will join me in expressing sympathy for France over the fire in Notre Dame Cathedral, one of the jewels of world architecture and a symbol of Paris.

For France the Km 0 is on the steps of Notre Dame de Paris. I just saw first the Archeveque de Paris, thanking all those fire men who worked hard in a terrific situation.Then President Macron ended "la Cathedrale de Paris nous la reconstruirons , je m'y engage." I'm sure the Notre Dame cathdral will be entirely rebuilt but the artisanry of centuries passed can never be equalled I fear. Techniques and craftmanship that are forever lost!

Thank you so much for your kind post ! I am so sad to to see this horrific damage to the French (and World) heritage that has occurred on Monday night. I was at a professional meeting at 8.00 PM. Therefore, I have been informed by this damage very late in the night...yesterday I made a procession to Notre Dame de Paris to pray for this very old Lady. It was of some consolation to read the news yesterday morning and this morning and learn that at least the main structure seems to have been saved.....
