Empress Masako in Meiji Scroll Tiara Posted by The Royal Watcher on May 1, 2019, 11:56 am Empress Masako is wearing the Meiji Scroll Tiara and two big diamond rivieres for Emperor Naruhito's Accession today! Princess Kiko wore the Crown Princess Diamond Scroll Tiara (for the first time), while the other ladies wore their usual Tiaras!

I suspect that the new Empress will not have a lot of room to manoeuvre in showing her own style with jewels as so much is dictated by custom, but I look forward to seeing her own interpretation. But, I mourn the departure of Empress Michiko; a LADY whose elegance lent charm to the Imperial Japanese jewels.
