Necklace from the Russian crown jewels Posted by kat max on June 14, 2019, 9:42 pm Looking around on the bnf I stumbled across this press photo from 1932 with the following description: " Un collier de 15 millions de dollars provenant des joyaux de la couronne de Russie et que vient de laisser en mourant Mme Edith Rockefeller, Mc Cordmik de Chicago " A necklace worth 15 million dollars with a provenance of the Russian crown jewels that was left? by Madame Edith Rockerfeller. I'm not sure however. But it looks like a jewelled belt we may have discussed on here or else place before. But thanks for this post kat max. Its astounding to realize the kind of jewels women of that era who were not royal were able to pull off. Such massive jewel sets without them looking burdened by them while same is not as readily repeated today. Does it not seem that the designers of jewels made either better or more fascinating jewels than today's jewellers with albeit less technology? Regards, Dave.
