Queen Sophia’s Ruby Brooch

To mark the Anniversary of her Birth, I published my research (compiled over a year) on Queen Sophia’s Ruby Brooch, HERE, in which I found that the “ruby of unusual size which is the centrepiece of the large diamond brooch” that was a wedding gift from her mother and worn in many portraits, is the same piece worn by Queen Frederica, often as a pendant off of her Pearl and Diamond Necklace/Tiara. However, it hasn't been seen since the fall of the Greek Monarchy and I'd like to discuss its provenance and its eventual fate. I'd also love to learn more about the brooches from by Queen Sophia and Queen Frederica.

Great research as always Royal Watcher. Could this be the same brooch worn by Princess Sofia that is often identified as an unknown amethyst brooch. Could the purple be due to the fabric underneath???
Do we know what happened to the tiara or the necklace it was often attached to as a pendant? These pieces may give us a clue.

I know that the necklace was worn as a tiara by Princess Irene, although I don't think that it has been seen in recent years.
It is possible that Queen Frederika sold the ruby during her years of exile to raise funds. We know that the large sapphire was sold.
The rubies given to Queen Sophia by her mother have always intrigued me. As far as I know there are no photos of the tiara/necklace; nor, as far as I know, are there any rubies in the Greek collection which are unaccounted for. Did Queen Sophia sell them during one of the early periods of exile? Were they broken up and used in other pieces of jewellery? A mystery!
