Posted by Beth on August 25, 2019, 7:23 am One of Queen Maud's most outstanding wedding gifts was a diamond tiara presented by a group of her friends. As turquoises were reportedly the Queen's favourite gemstones, her siblings (and relevant spouses) presented her with a series of turquoise and diamond elements which could be mounted on the tiara instead of the diamond surmounts when desired. We have all been well aware of these gifts for a long time. Princess Ragnhild probably only wore the tiara with the diamond terminals since the turquoise terminals went to Princess Astrid.
