List of Jewellery given to Empress Masako Posted by The Royal Watcher on September 23, 2019, 4:57 am The Imperial Household Agency has released a list of 580 items 'inherited from Emperor to Emperor', including 20 items of jewellery passed from Empress Michiko to Empress Masako. While some of the jewels, like the Meiji Scroll Tiara, Imperial Chrysanthemum Tiara, and three-strand diamond riviere are quite easy to identify, I wonder if it would be possible to find pictures of the other jewels! Items 1, 3 & possibly 13 Item 5? Item 14

Empress Masako wore a diamond bracelet on her right hand on the day of her husband's accession. Could it be one of the diamond bracelets mentioned above. Here Empress Michiko wears an emerald bracelet on her right wrist. Could it be No 16??

Since Empress Masako wore the bracelet on the day her husband became Emperor, I strongly suspect that it is one of the bracelets on the list, as the other jewels are obviously Imperial heirlooms. Maridje I too wondered if the pearl sautoir was the 4 strand necklace mentioned in the list. We have seen it (as the photos show) on both Empress Nagako and Empress Michiko.
