No doubt further research by the curators may yet establish whether that was so. See https://waddesdon.org.uk/the-collection/item/?id=838 When 992234177 did a post about the pearl and diamond tiara by Boucheron in July, https://mb.boardhost.com/historyroyaljewels/msg/1562764372.html I did some searching in the contemporary newspapers to see if I could find images of Dorothy de Rothschild wearing the jewel, but failed to find any photos of her wearing grand jewels -- but I recollect I didn't have time to do a thorough search. She is a fascinating lady! I doubt if there will be many photos in the press as, although her name features frequently, she seemed to practise the art of eluding photographers at evening events.

I'm surprised... Posted by Janet on October 22, 2019, 3:36 am, in reply to "Re: A Rothschild Treasury" That the emerald necklace and tiara date from the same period, although I described them as a parure I had assumed the tiara dated from later as the tiara seems much lighter and post war in style, such as the 1920s whereas the necklace and brooches seemed much more Victorian and bulky in style. My favourite is the rubies however, what a beautiful tiara and necklace. What a fabulous collection! It is always takes me surprise when really quite extraordinary jewellery just appears seemingly from nowhere, proof that surprises can still happen.
