Princess Bibesco emeralds Posted by Janet on December 22, 2019, 1:55 am I first came to read about Princess Marthe Bibesco in Hannah Pakula's superb biography of Queen Marie of Romania. She seemed an unlikable character but she had a fabulous collection of emeralds and was quite inventive in how she wore them - imagine wearing a tiara on your shoulder! The emeralds were reset in a tiara by Cartier and sold in the 1970s. I know that there is some information in Hans Nadelhoffer's tome on Cartier, but unfortunately I don't have time to read it today. Hopefully, some one else will have the time.
