Back to guessing. What did Queen Mary wear to the re-opening of Covent Garden evening in 1946? Posted by Beth on December 29, 2019, 6:58 pm These photos of the British royals at the re-opening of Covent Garden evening have been seen many times previously, but I don't think that Queen Mary's jewels have ever been positively identified. Hopefully, some one has sharper photos than I have which may help us identify her jewels. I think we may all identify Queen Mary's tiara -- it is the necklace/s which is/are a bit of a mystery. If I had to guess - it looks like a small collet diamond necklace at the bottom and a diamond choker above - which choker, I am not sure. Maybe her smaller convertible bracelets??

Cant tell, but my feeling is that it could be velvet or some other clothe material with jewels affixed, but I think it looks like a collier at the very bottom. Regards, Dave. I can t give you the link. Hello, I suspect this necklace is simply her link choker (splitting in a pair of bracelets) with a diamond collet necklace under. Hopefully, someone will find a much clearer image.
