I have been going through my old pictures that I have saved over the years and I have found some ones I would like to share. This is my first time ever uploading pictures directly so please be patient with me if this doesn't work!
I have been collecting these for a decade or so, so don't know the sources of all of them or who they relate to, I just like them because they are beautiful items of jewellery.
This is the Astor tiara with the Sancy diamond
I don't know who this lady is but the tiara is intriguing.

This is most excellent Janet, thank you. Your first picture of the necklace could be the one mentioned in Frank's list of a tiara being given to Mrs. Greville by her father as a wedding gift of single diamond design. It looks like it cold be mounted on a frame and worn as a tiara. But then I see in your very next picture it looks as though it was slightly modified. I am much intrigued.

Wow, a big thank you Janet !
Several of the photos are very interesting !
For example, it's the first time I see a face view of the Astor tiara with the Sancy diamond.
For the 4th photo, I think the couple is Baroness Guy de Rothschild with his wife, Marie-Helene.
As for the 5th photo, I think it's a rare one showing some of the Russian Crown Jewels. The huge collet necklace is the one worn by Empress Maria Feodorovna.
I also think the jewel on the bottom left (only showed partially) is the bracelet above, also from the Russian Imperial Collection.

I think that J-F is correct about the Russian crown jewels. I didn't have a clue until J-F mentioned the connection, but it seems to me that it is a photo of the Imperial necklace.

This photo which Janet posted shows Arndt von Bohlen und Halbach and his mother. He was the last of the Krupp dynasty. His parents divorced in 1941 and I am unsure if she remarried or which name she used after her divorce. Most of the information on the net is in German. One of my many failings is lack of even a basic understanding of the language, so I hope that some members can provide us with more information.
I doubt very much if the first photo Janet posted is the tiara given to Mrs Greville when she married.
As far as I can see this does not match the description.
The tiara was described in one report as having three rivieres, the design being "light and graceful".
Perhaps my judgement is not universally shared, but I wouldn't be inclined to describe the jewel in Janet's image as "light and graceful". Nor do I think the style fits with the early 1890s.
Another factor is that all the reports spoke of large diamonds, some describing those in the centre as being the size of a sixpence. A sixpence was three quarters of an inch -- or just over 19mm -- in diameter. That would translate to diamonds of approximately 24 carats. I don't think that the central diamonds in the necklace in the image Janet posted are of that size.
I wonder if the image Janet posted comes from a magazine article? And that the sentence which can be partially seen has anything to do with the image above? Normally a caption to a photo would be more centred.

Like Beth Im intrigued by the half cut line under the photo which mentions Mrs. Greville having redesigned the necklace circa 1921. I beleive the sentence is mentioning two necklaces which I would say are the short and the long ones in the top two photos by Janet. Hugh Roberts says in the Queens Diamonds that the longer two strands of the Greville Festoon Necklace was made in 1929 by Cartier using Mrs Greville's own stones. Do others think these two necklaces might be the source of the diamonds???
Dear all, I can not post a photo currently . however, this photo comes from vincent’s book about boucheron’s jewels. Thèse two necklaces were made by mrs greville with diamonds in her collection. I have not listed them because we suppose that they were used to create the festoon cartier necklace now worn by the duchess of cornwall.

How lucky we are that Vincent Meylan wrote the book on Boucheron.
I think that the diamond chain necklace was worn by Mrs Greville throughout the 1920s and early 1930s.
I will create a new thread and post some of the press cuttings I have about Mrs Greville's diamond necklaces.

Its rare I think for a tiara to hold a big named stand alone diamond, the only other one I can think of is the Stuart diamond in the Dutch Stuart tiara. If anyone can think of others, please do share.
Thank you for your comments by the way and for pointing out the Russian collet necklace. I am a serial saver but quite slack on properly recording what they are. I'll try and post more in a couple of weeks after my holiday.
