Maybe I forgot but the picture below with Princess Alexandra highlights a tiara I don't think I've seen before unless it is her turquoise tiara with pearls.

Hi Dave...great find! They look like sapphires which would make sense given th dress.
Paste can be eliminated as the sash indicates an official event.
I love this demo parure. My only comments would be zi would love to know more. Also I wish they had been worn more often.

Princess Alexandra wears her usual tiara, with pearls. She alternates between turquoises and pearls in the flowers, but I believe she has sapphires also in the flowers of the tiara in your last picture. So there are possibly three versions of the tiara.

Here is a slightly better image of the one posted by Dave above. In pictures taken from a distance I always assumed it was a traditional cluster necklace but this closeup shows that the design also incorporates all diamond elements as well as small sapphires going towards the back.
Great photo! Thank you OmerH. I never realised that the necklace had all diamond elements. After seeing this photo, I wondered if the necklace is a composite piece.
OmerH's photo shows clearly that there are sapphires for use in the tiara.
Thanks OmerH, I also noticed the all diamond elements but thought they could have been white/ clear type sapphires as well. This set is really grand and not of the type I would associate with PA. I wonder if it could have been a loan to her by say HM, or maybe a gift from her late husband? I can recall PA representing the Queen on overseas visits and I'm not sure but has she acted as a Lady in Waiting?
