Queen Ena at the Vatican in 1923 Posted by Beth on January 22, 2020, 1:52 pm Does any one know what jewels Queen Ena wore to the Vatican in 1923? There are press reports that she wore a silver dress with a white veil and emeralds, but there is no mention of her tiara. I can see another jewel used as a corsage ornament but I cannot fathom whether it is a string of diamonds or pearls. Some of the contemporary press reports noted that Queen Ena, as Queen of Spain, was at that time the only female entitled to the privilege du blanc.

The necklace definitely does not fall in the same way as the emerald necklace. The reference to an emerald necklace came from this report.
